Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) was established under the Kerala University of Health Sciences Act, 2010 to ensure proper and systematic instruction, teaching, training, and research in Modern Medicine, Homoeopathy, and Indian Systems of Medicine—such as Ayurveda, Siddha, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani—and other allied sciences. The University also aims to bring uniformity across academic programs in medical and allied subjects throughout the state of Kerala. KUHS is located in Thrissur, Kerala.
The University is mandated to affiliate all colleges and institutions in Kerala offering professional education in healthcare. To date, 380 professional colleges have been affiliated with KUHS.
